Family: Cichlidae
size: the height and length can reach up to 12" (30Cm's)
Origin: Native to the Amazon River
Diet: A carnivorous fish, feeding mainly on small invertebrates such as Brine Shrimp and Blood worms, live or frozen.
Compatibility: Generally a peaceful fish, but should not be kept with large aggressive fishes. Discus do not take stress well and can sometimes stop eating when introduced into a new tank.
