The Introduction
Put food and your cat's favorite treat in the trainer at bedtime. Remove the bowl overnight, so your cat can use the trainer in private.
The Mouse
Once your cat has the hang of the trainer, use the portion filler* to put one scoop in each of the three mice. Remove the food bowl and put all three mice in its place.
*the portion filler is based on the average 10lb cat eating the average food. Make sure your cat is eating the appropriate amount of food.
The Hunt
Use the portion filler to fill and hide all three mice per cat (morning & night). Hide the mice around the house. Start simply at first. You can increase the difficulty of the hiding spot as your cat grows to be an expert hunter!
