Peter's Reef Essentials Alkalinity
Alkalinity is essential for maintaining a stable reef aquarium. It helps buffer against pH fluctuations while supplying the carbonates and bicarbonates needed by corals, coralline algae, and other calcifying organisms to build strong skeletons.
For optimal reef health, maintain alkalinity between 8.0–12.0 dKH (142–215 ppm). Consistency is key—stable alkalinity levels are far more important than chasing a specific number.
Active Ingredients:
Carbonate & Bicarbonate Complex
Dose:
1 mL per gallon raises alkalinity by approximately 1 dKH.
Directions:
Shake well before use. Add to a high-flow area of the aquarium. Do not increase alkalinity by more than 1 dKH per day. Test regularly and adjust dosing as needed.
