Paphiopedilum primulinum is native to Sumatra, specifically southern Aceh near Blang Kejeren and Tapaktuan at around 1000 m, as well as along the west coast at approximately 500 m. It grows in humus-rich limestone soil, thriving in shaded areas or with some light exposure. This orchid prefers bright, indirect light for 12–14 hours daily and a humidity level of 50–60%.
