I've always been warned about these guys and how unreliable they can be, so I was pretty skeptical. I figured I'd get it and test it out in the weeks beforehand to see if an automatic feeder could work. And it does, but it does take some trial and error to make it work for you: it's not something I'd reccomend if you're only going to leave your betta for a few days: more like a week or more. My advice for people looking to buy and use these: 1) Make sure the device is positioned level with the tank to keep it from falling-over or not working correctly. 2) Sift and dry-out the PELLET food you put in there to help prevent jamming. 3) ONLY use pellet food and make sure there aren't any that are too big to fit into the mechanism. 4) Make sure you put-in a fresh battery every time you leave your fish for a period of time: These run VERY quietly so it can be hard to tell if they're working or not. It's also difficult to gadge if the batteries need changing. Hope this helps!
