Nephila maculata, found across East and Southeast Asia as well as Oceania, inhabits primary and secondary forests, as well as gardens. Females are notably larger, with a body size ranging from 30–50 mm (overall size up to 20 cm), while males are much smaller, measuring only 5–6 mm. It is the second-largest orb-weaving spider, surpassed only by the newly discovered Nephila komaci. Juvenile females have dense, hairy brushes on the first, second, and fourth pairs of legs, though these brushes vanish as the spider matures.
Frame colours do vary. As all specimens are real the look of the specimen will vary slightly.
